Peach had a very good year in 2023. She easily Qualified for the 2023 Master Nationals going 6/7 during the qualifying period. With her already qualifying we decided to send her to run her first HRC Grand in Kentucky. She was as close to passing as a dog can get without passing. She handled in the first series and then crushed the rest of the Grand right up to last bird of the Upland series. She was seconds away from her first pass. Thats to problem with using real birds. They have a mind of their own.
A week later I met up with Peach and Her Handler Chris Jobman in Arkansas. Chris Akin hosted us at Web Footed Kennels and we prepared for the Master National. Getting to Georgia was a challenge but we made it.
The night before the First series we found out Peach and I would be the First to go to the Line and we would be running on Mike Lardy's Grounds. The first series of Flight D will be talked about for many years. Someone dubbed it "The watch pocket series" Running first is rarely ideal, but it probably was best for us. We remained calm and followed advice given after watching the test dog. Peach and I worked as a team and when we finished The Judges remarked "She set the Bar pretty high". We really enjoyed running the National but didn't make it to the fifth series. Lessons were learned!
Rip is a dog with a huge future! He's already extremely accomplished as shown by all the letters in front of his name. He's owned by Ron Anderson of Ethel Louisiana. Rip is the youngest dog ever to win the Super Retriever Series Crown Championship at 3years old. The S.R.S. is a combination of Field Trials and Hunt Tests. Sometimes blending the two together. I added a link below so He can be seen running the 2022 SRS Crown Championship on YouTube. Fast forward 15 minutes if you like to watch Rip and Ron.
Both Rip and Peach are incredible marking dogs. They're very similar in that they also want to be team players.
