Shari and I really enjoy just about every aspect of raising puppies. One of the things that gives us the most fulfillment is the families that we welcome to Big Cottonwood. We have formed some great friendships! We do our best to keep up with them all and it's also fun seeing where they all go!

I met all three of these dogs when they were 6 to 7 weeks old it’s been an incredibly fun journey over the course of the last year seeing the similarities but also differences in their temperament, personality, and overall development.

It’s like three cooks took the same ingredients, but came up with three different dishes. although very similar (genetics) each one has their own little twist (personality). I’m excited to see what the future hold for all three of these knuckleheads and the different jobs and lifestyle they all live.

We had a different name all picked out, but after spending a few days with this little "Pistol" it was just much more fitting! She is something else!
Pistol is sired by GRHRCH Fowlmasters Big Black Buck MH12
& HRCH Blue Sky's Fully Involved "Ash" MH. But her loaded pedigree goes even further. Grand Sire is SRSCH 15xGRHRCH
Big Black Dude II MNH4, no other dog in history has as many Grand Passes. Looking at the bottom side of her pedigree you'll find three BIG names including 2011 NFC FC Watermark's Running Back MH "Emmitt", 2006 NAFC FC AFC Carbon Copy of Horn Creek (2008 Hall Of Fame) and 2003 NFC FC AFC Five Star General Patton.
Pistol is maturing and is turning into a very nice dog. She's coming along nicely in training and is picking up concepts quickly. Unfortunately Pistol's hips came back as "fair" so we can't with good conscious breed her. So this lucky little girl has a beautiful new home in the Rockies...

I contacted The owner Grant Hatch and talked with him about a upcoming litter. After hearing the background oI chose to go ahead and put a deposit down for a pup!
Fast forward to now and our pup Rocky who is an exceptional pup and is living up to all of my expectations!
