We are very excited to see how well their first litter are doing. Many puppies like the ones pictured above were placed in Detection, Service and Hunt Test homes. BCR has caught on in the "Pointy Ear" community of Law Enforcement. Naturally many will hunt and compete serving 2 purposes.
A year ago, Peach and I were the first Dog and Handler of Flight D at the 2023 Master National in Thomasville GA. We even received a special hat commemorating the honor. She was also one of a very small percentage (11%) of dogs to run the first series clean. She really made me proud! Two weeks earlier She made it until the very last bird in the 5th series of the HRC International Grand. It's only a matter of time before She becomes our first Grand Hunting Retriever Champion.
In March of 2024 we sent Peach to Texas with Chris Jobman to prepare for passing the Spring Grand in Omaha GA. Peach made it all the way through four grueling tests with perfect scores to reach the Upland series and earn her first pass! We have heard from lots of people who said she was absolutely killed it! In Chris's own words "Peach Pounded it" One down one to go!
Unfortunately, Peach will miss the 2024 Fall Grand. Mother Nature reared her head and 2 weeks before it kicks off, we had to scratch. Peach and I worked hard all summer accumulating enough points required to become a Grand Hunting Retriever Champion with her next Grand Pass. We traveled to Colorado, South Dakota and Kansas passing 8 of 9 Finished tests.
Peach has been paired again with Maverick owned by Byron Hassel, a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in Florida. I've been fortunate to witness Mavericks entire career at Flatlander Kennels Inc. Chris and Maverick are a great team! In fact, they have never failed a weekend Hunt Test! Recently they wrapped up their 3rd Master National Pass to become a member of the Hall of Fame. Maverick 3 weeks later passed yet another HRC International Grand to make it his 4th.
These two produced some incredibly intelligent puppies the first time we paired them together. If they give us a Yellow Female, we already have a name picked out!
