HRCH Big Cottonwood's Just Peachy MH
We acquired Peachy the Winter of 2021. She had been started by an Amateur Trainer and He put a solid foundation on her passing 1 of 2 lower stake tests. We built on what he started and quickly transitioned to HRC. Peach adapted quickly and by July had earned her HRC Hunting Retriever Champion (Finished Title). We switched it up again and began pursuing her Master Hunter title. We had a few bumps in the road early and decided that a season of actual duck hunting would help her. It did!
The benefits of a hunting season we numerous. All those hunts helped her steadiness and perseverance.
She really became a Team Player! AT 47lbs she was occasionally retrieving 13lb geese.
We wrapped up Peach's Master Hunter Title 7/21/22 and I'm very pleased with her performance. She just keeps getting better! She says, "Move over Sochi!" 2023 was a good year for Peach! She went 6 for 7 in Master Tests and is qualified for the 2023 Master Nationals with time to spare. To Thomasville GA we went. We didn't come home with a plate. Instead, we learned a valuable lesson as a team.
Those lessons carried over to 2024's Hunt Test Season! After passing the HRC International Grand with perfect scores we took a look at the total number of points she has accumulated in her career so far. We were about halfway to where we wanted. So, we begin running as many finished tests as possible. Peach and I really came together, going 8 for 9 to put her in great shape to have enough points to become a Grand Champion with her next Grand pass.
