HRCH Big Cottonwood's Just Peachy MH
We acquired Peachy the Winter of 2021. She had been started by an Amateur Trainer and He put a solid foundation on her passing 1 of 2 lower stake tests. We built on what he started and quickly transitioned to HRC. Peach adapted quickly and by July had earned her HRC Hunting Retriever Champion (Finished Title). We switched it up again and began pursuing her Master Hunter title. We had a few bumps in the road early and decided that a season of actual duck hunting would help her. It did!
The benefits of a hunting season we numerous. All those hunts helped her steadiness and perseverance.
She really became a Team Player! AT 47lbs she was occasionally retrieving 13lb geese.
We wrapped up Peach's MH 7/21/22 and I'm very pleased with her performance. She just keeps getting better! She says, "Move over Sochi!" 2023 was a good year for Peach! She went 6 for 7 in Masters and is qualified for the 2023 Master Nationals with time to spare. To Thomasville GA we went. Ws didn't come home with a plate. Instead, we learned a valuable lesson as a team.
2024 was a excellent year for BCR, especially Peach! She began with passing the Spring Grand in Omaha GA. To quote her handler (Chris Jobman) "Peach pounded it". This was her second Grand appearance and She has been to the 5th and final series both times. Peach and I ran 9 more Finished Test passing 8 of them acuminating enough points to title her a Grand Champion with her next Grand Pass. She's on hell of a dog!
